Redknapp: We need a win

Harry Redknapp admitted after Saturday's draw with Wigan Athletic that Queens Park Rangers must start improving their results, insisting he will try and strengthen his squad in January if they are still in with a chance of survival.

QPR were held to a 2-2 draw by the Latics at the DW Stadium as goals from Ryan Nelsen and Djibril Cisse were cancelled out by a James McCarthy double for the home side.

Redknapp has now seen his side collect three points from as many games since he became manager, and he knows they have to push on quickly to get out of trouble.

"We need wins," Redknapp, whose QPR side are now eight points adrift of safety, told Sky Sports.

"We played at home to Villa and I felt that was a game we should have won. We got a point at Sunderland and a point today, so that's three games and we haven't lost yet, but we need that win.

"We're at home next week (against Fulham) and we've got to try and get it then. If we can get a win it will turn the whole thing around."

Redknapp says there have been positives to take from the games so far and paid tribute to goalkeeper Robert Green, as well as Nelsen and Clint Hill.

"I've been pleased with the way they've worked," he said. "They've given a lot of effort and I thought the two centre-halves today were fantastic. The keeper, Rob Green, was excellent as well.

"There were some positives and I think we put a shift in."

Redknapp refused to confirm his plans for January but admitted it would depend on whether QPR had been cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

He said: "I know where I'd like to improve but it's difficult for me to say because we've got players here at the moment.

"We will see what happens in the window. If we are still in there, and please God we are, then we will have a look at it and see if we can get one or two in who could give us a push."
