Andros Townsend: The winger's move to QPR is off

The young winger was understood to be undergoing a medical at the club and ready to join the Loftus Road club on loan until the end of the campaign.

However, the 21-year-old, who has scored one goal under Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane this season, has decided against the move.

Rs boss Harry Redknapp is eyeing a number of key targets on transfer deadline day in order to bolster his squad in the hope of keeping the club in the Premier League.

He is also on the verge of completing the signings of David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas from his former club as well as bringing in the Anzhi Makhachkala central defender Christopher Samba for a club record fee.
