Junior Hoilett: Hopes to boost QPR's survival bid

Hoilett has started just nine league games for QPR since joining the club from Blackburn last summer due to a succession of hamstring injuries.

The Canada international has only featured once for the Premier League's bottom club since Redknapp replaced Mark Hughes at the helm in November.

Now he is hoping to show Redknapp he can play an important role in QPR's Premier League survival bid.

"I started training last week," he told the Fulham Chronicle. "I've been doing some rehab and strength work and will hopefully be ready for the next match.

"It's been really frustrating, especially when a new manager comes in and you can't show him what you can do because of injuries.

"I've struggled with the same hamstring problem. Hopefully it's sorted now and I can get going. I feel I'm over it now.

"It's been difficult. I came back from injury and got my chance, then got injured again. I've just had to stay focused and hopefully get going again."

The 22-year-old was relegated with Rovers last season and is determined to play his part in completing an unlikely survival act for QPR.

"I want to help the team get the results we need. I haven't been able to do that when I'm on the sidelines," he said.

"It's not a good feeling getting relegated. I know what it's like, so it gives me extra drive to make sure it doesn't happen again."

he thing is, footballers are role models, and children are influenced by them. I watched the Chelsea game with my 6 year old, and at school the next day she stamped on Emre Can.

et again Barcelona try to convince the world that they only play the most virtuous of football. I've never seen a team so willing and able to dish out lumps but feel so self-righteous that no opposition player should ever have the audacity to tackle them.

d love to see a United v Liverpool FA cup final. It would certainly fit the narrative. Obv I'd want the ending to be one of an O.G. and tears as he collects his runner-up medal.
