Adel Taarabt: Tipped to play a big role for Rangers

Adel Taarabt: Tipped to play a big role for Rangers

The 23-year-old was part of the Rangers team that played a closed-doors match with West Ham on Tuesday, where he scored with a free-kick in a 3-1 defeat.

Taarabt also looked impressive when he came off the bench during the 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

When asked about the midfielder's contribution at Upton Park, Bircham said: "It was a great goal from Adel. You'll always get that from him, he's always there wanting the ball.

"Sometimes he tries a lot of hard balls which might not always come off but then he'll have that one bit of magic that does work.

"You see when he came on Saturday he played so well for the first team so hopefully we'll start seeing the best of him again."

Meanwhile, Taarabt remains confident Rangers can move off the foot of the table and avoid the drop.

Taarabt said: "We still believe. There are eight games left - 24 points to play for - so we know what we have to do and we will try to do that."
