The 25-year-old joined QPR last summer from Real Madrid and claimed in April that he was keen to stay with Harry Redknapp's side - even if they were relegated to the Championship.
However, the Spaniard seems to have changed his mind following confirmation of the club's relegation.
"Now I do not plan to play in the second tier because I think it is not the place for me," Granero told Spanish newspaper AS.
"I mean that in the most humble way but it's how I feel. We will see what happens.
"The Premier League experience has been very good and I would love to play here more."
Granero is expecting a summer of much change at Loftus Road, but has not committed himself to any particular destination.
"It will be a summer with little stability. We will see what is best for all," he added.
"For me, the most important thing is football. I've never given priority to economic issues or other things."
