Harry Redknapp: Felt his side were excellent against Middlesbrough

The unbeaten leaders swept aside Boro at Loftus Road on Saturday with first-half goals from Joey Barton and Charlie Austin's penalty.

R's boss Redknapp told the club website: "It was a great exhibition of football at times.

"That's the best we've played all season. I've walked away from games this season thinking we could have played better, but I thought we were first class from start to finish.

"I picked a team of footballers and just asked them to go out and play - and they did all I asked of them.

"We passed the ball well, we kept possession of the football for long periods and looked a classy side.

"We went 2-0 up in the first half and could have scored more. We looked very comfortable because everyone was on their game.

"Everyone wanted the football, everyone wanted to play their part and I thought we were excellent - each and every one of them.

"Every time someone got on the ball they had four or five options and that's how you play the game."
