Tom Carroll: Out to impress Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino

The midfielder made 26 appearances for QPR after making the temporary switch in August but admits his future at Spurs could be in danger after the change of management.

Tim Sherwood was relieved of his duties at the end of the season to be replaced by former Southampton coach Pochettino and Carroll is eager to impress the Argentine.

England Under 21 international Carroll missed out on a starting place for QPR's play-off final triumph at Wembley but insists his loan spell was successful.

"I'm going back to Spurs and will try to impress pre-season - and go from there. Being at Rangers has been a positive, and to go up at the end was the icing on the cake," he told Get West London.

"But no player would just want to sit on the bench or in the stands. Everyone wants to play. I'll be back at Spurs and hopefully I can do it there. If not, then we'll see.

"I wasn't involved in the play-off final which was disappointing, but I played 26 games, and all in all I played my part in getting the club promoted."

Carroll's loan deal expired at the end of May and the creative playmaker will now return to Tottenham, where he has made seven first-team appearances to date including outings in the Europa League and Premier League.

f Klopp is available and willing to go there, they have to sign him up. Far better manager than Rodgers. The reason Liverpool fail in so many big games is the inflexible nature of their manager and his inability to find strikers who fit into his inflexible style of play. A feature of nearly every game that the team comes up short is the way the opposition midfield appears to overpower them. It's too easy.

est player award should not go to a player who's second best at all the importent categories (i.e goals, assists etc) just because his team is at the top. If you are not first you are last; if you're second you are the first loser ( looking at you Hazard). David De Gea for POTY.
