Robert Green: QPR goalkeeper is holding talks with the club over a new deal

Goalkeeper Rob Green, midfielders Alejandro Faurlin and Gary O'Neil, defender Armand Traore and striker Bobby Zamora are all in discussions with the club following their return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Aaron Hughes, Stephane Mbia and Andrew Johnson have been released after their current deals expired.

Hughes joined QPR on a short-term deal in January and made 11 appearances in the promotion-winning campaign.

Mbia spent last season on loan at Seville, while Johnson departs following a two-year stay in west London.

Luke Young, Hogan Ephraim, Angelo Balanta and Tom Hitchcock have also been released at the end of their contracts.

Hitchcock has already signed a three-year contract with MK Dons.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Ravel Morrison, Tom Carroll, Niko Kranjcar, Will Keane, Kevin Doyle and Modibo Maiga have all returned to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their loan spells.

A statement from QPR read: "Everyone at Loftus Road would like to take this opportunity to thank all of these players for their contribution to the club, and to wish them well for the future."

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)
