Former Tranmere defender Zoumana Bakayogo has been the only new arrival at the King Power Stadium, joining the Sky Bet Championship club on a free transfer last week.

Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanctions take effect from this season and Leicester are trying to cut their cloth accordingly to meet the demands of the regulations.

Striker Jermaine Beckford, the Foxes' biggest earner, has been sold to Bolton while midfielder Richie Wellens has been released from the final year of his contract.

Ahead of the start of the season at the weekend Pearson insists he is unable to bring anyone else in.

"The opportunity to add to the squad is not there, so there is no point me talking about it," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.

"It doesn't matter if I need to (bring players in) or not, I won't be.

"I don't think I have ever made noises during pre-season that that was going to be the case. I don't think I have ever said since the end of last season that I will be adding to the squad."
