Ritchie De Laet: Facing six weeks on sidelines

The Belgian's leg had become infected and the right-back now faces an extended spell on the sidelines but City manager Nigel Pearson revealed it might have been much worse for him.

"A simple knock on it and he could have been out for the rest of the season," said Pearson.

"It is important that our concern is chiefly with the player's wellbeing.

"He needs to get it sorted, but he is well on the way to recovering now. Hopefully it won't be too many weeks, but it will be a month or so."

De Laet made the move to the King Power Stadium from Manchester United in the summer of 2012 and has made 12 appearances for Leicester this season, although he missed Saturday's 2-1 Championship win over Huddersfield.

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
