Nigel Pearson: Leicester boss aware of Fulham's strengths and weaknesses

Just eight places in the league ladder separate City - second in the Championship - and their Capital One Cup fourth-round opponents.

But Pearson has told his players to ignore the erratic form which has left the visitors just two points above the Premier League's relegation places nine games into the new season.

He told Sky Sports News: "I've been fortunate enough to play in big cup ties and know how interesting they are to players.

"It's a great opportunity and when, as a Championship side, you get the chance to play against a Premier League outfit, I think the players will look at it as a good opportunity to see exactly where they're at themselves.

"They always make for interesting games and what we've got to do is make sure it's not an easy ride for them.

"Regardless of their league position at the moment we are very aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and we'll do everything we can to come away with a win, but we're going to have to play well."
