Evian have given Sagbo the green light to complete his move to the KC Stadium after thrashing out terms with the Tigers.
Reports suggest Sagbo has travelled to Yorkshire to discuss terms and undergo a medical ahead of a £3m switch.
A statement on the French club's website read: "Evian Thonon Gaillard FC and Hull City have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Yannick Sagbo.
"ETG FC wishes every success to Yannick for the rest of his career."
There had been speculation that Sagbo could join his half-brother Guy Demel at West Ham and the Ivory Coast international was also linked with Celtic.
But Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to sign the former Monaco player and appears to have added another new recruit ahead of Hull's return to the Premier League.
The Tigers have already signed George Boyd, Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies, Ahmed Elmohamady, Allan McGregor and Steve Harper.
