Timely Gedo boost for Bruce

Steve Bruce is relieved to discover that Gedo has finally been cleared to join Hull City on a season-long loan.

Gedo: Free to link up with Hull City for a second time

An agreement with Egyptian outfit Al Ahly was reached in August, but visa problems have prevented the striker from linking up with the Tigers.

Those issues have now been resolved and Gedo is free to return to the KC Stadium.

He helped to fire Hull towards the Premier League last season - netting five times in 12 appearances - and Bruce is hoping he can have a similar impact this term.

The Tigers have been short on firepower since stepping up into the top flight - finding the target just twice in their opening four fixtures - and they are understandably delighted to be in a position to welcome another goal-getter into their ranks.

Bruce, who concedes that Gedo may need a couple of weeks to work on his fitness, said on the deal: "Knowing that Gedo is on his way to us at last is a huge boost.

"There was a time when I genuinely feared we wouldn't be seeing him until Christmas.

"But we know, from having him here last season, that he has got goals in him and that he is a class finisher.

"I believe he has the quality to be a regular scorer in the Premier League."

ell that really inspires me with confidence. No point in training, deciding on a coherent formation, or playing players in their best positions, let's just hope we get lucky.

alcao really needs to shine now. Apparently according to the stats, he scores more when played up front alone. I wonder if Van Gaal will actually apply a formation to get the best out of him though.
