The 30-year-old, who has just completed his first season for Leeds, is hoping to appear at Wembley on May 29 when the Republic launch their summer campaign with a friendly against England.

Giovanni Trapattoni's side will then play Georgia in another friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin the following Sunday (June 2) before their World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands at the same venue on Friday, June 7.

The Irish are scheduled to take on world and European champions Spain in a third summer friendly at New York's Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, June 11.

Pontefract-born Green, who made 36 appearances for Leeds this season following his arrival last summer from Derby, has won 14 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
