Brian McDermott's side will then travel to Leicester for their first away tie the following week before a Yorkshire derby at Elland Road against Sheffield Wednesday.

McDermott will return to former club Reading on September 17 when the two clubs meet at the Madejski Stadium.

In October, United face newly promoted Bournemouth as well as an away derby with Huddersfield.

Leeds then travel to Blackpool on Boxing Day before an away clash with Nottingham Forest and a New Year's Day meeting with Blackburn wraps up their Christmas schedule.

Leeds' penultimate game of the season will take place at St Andrew's where they meet Birmingham before the campaign is drawn to a close at home to Derby County.
