Gary Kelly: Plotting a move into management

Kelly is currently taking his coaching qualifications and he has been given special dispensation to fast-track his way to try and earn his coaching badges under Football Association of Ireland regulations.

The 38-year-old ended his playing career in 2007 after 16 years of loyal service to Leeds where he made 531 appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Kelly has a wealth of experience during an illustrious career for club and country, winning 51 caps for Republic of Ireland and playing in two World Cup for his country.

The former right-back is keen to back into the game after taking a break and he is eager to take his first steps on the road to becoming a manager.

"I have had a nice break from football, but I am ready to get involved again and I hope to move into management," Kelly told Sky Sports.

"I am doing my coaching badges and I am determined to do all I can to become a manager.

"I was lucky enough to enjoy a great career for club and country and I have worked under some great managers so hopefully that will help me in my coaching ambitions.

"I am prepared to start lower down to learn the ropes and management is always something I have thought about doing even when I was playing.
