Sam Byram: Played for Leeds' development squad

The 19-year-old right-back, sidelined since April due to a hip injury that could yet require surgery, played for just over an hour in a 2-1 win over Derby and laid on the winning goal for Lewis Walters.

"The good thing is that he got through 65 minutes, so he played most of the game," development squad manager Neil Redfearn told the club's official website.

"I think there is a little bit of stiffness there so he didn't need any more. I think it was enough.

"Sam has been out for such a long time now and it's an injury that isn't going away quickly.

"We've got to be careful how much we give him and how much we expose him to this. Playing for more than an hour will give him confidence."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.
