Dean Gerken: Goalkeeper is training with Ipswich Town

Gerken is available on a free transfer after leaving the Robins earlier this summer.

The 28-year-old has been invited to spend a spell on trial with the Portman Road outfit by Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy.

Gerken has linked up with the Town squad for their pre-season trip to the Republic of Ireland and he could feature in their friendly with Shelbourne.

McCarthy is keen to bolster his goalkeeping options having had West Ham goalkeeper Stephen Henderson on loan last season.

He will cast an eye over Gerken before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest in the former Colchester custodian.
