Billy Davies: Praised the fans after a 6-1 win over Huddersfield

It was a first victory for Davies since returning to Forest and the three points takes his side to eighth in the table, just six points off the play-offs.

Davies has spoken about how he has unfinished business at the midlands club, having failed to win promotion through the play-offs with them in 2011.

But, asked if this easy win would kick-start a surge towards the Premier League, Davies said: "I said I had unfinished business, but I meant promotion was the target within three and a half years.

"The chairman has told us to do the best we can and win as many games as we can.

"There is a big expectation here and the fans are very demanding but, if you don't approach this game properly, it can bite you in the backside, and we're not getting carried away.

"There's a lot of work to do and we know fine well that two wins can take you up but two wins can drag you down."

Radoslaw Majewski was the star man for Forest with a brilliant hat-trick, as they bounced back from the concession of an early goal, but Davies said: "One or two players may get headlines but the team effort was great from back to front

"There's a lot of work to do and balances to find but I can see our game speed changing. We're getting quicker and our energy's getting better.

"And I'm telling you now, the 12th man was important. Their energy when the players went behind was fantastic."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
