Kelvin Wilson: Wanted by Nottingham Forest

Having already seen striker Gary Hooper and star midfielder Victor Wanyama depart for the Premier League, Lennon insists Wilson remains an integral part of his plans.

"I have spoken to him. I don't want him to go," Lennon told the Daily Record.

"I want him to play at least in the qualifiers, and be as professional as he can.

"I have plenty of central defenders, which was an area we needed to improve and bulk up on, but Kelvin is still my number one centre-half."

Speaking ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League qualifier with Swedish champions Elfsborg, the Northern Irishman was adamant something underhand is going on, and expressed his disappointment in Forest's conduct.

"There is no doubt there is something naughty going on," he added.

"His home and family are in Nottingham and that's a big lure for him.

"Some people down the road know that and are using it."
