Forest beat Mansfield 9-1 in a local Cup match at the weekend but their next fixture against Derby this Sunday is in doubt.

The owners of the men's team have withdrawn financial support for the club and that means the Ladies could go out of business. They claim they have been let down.

"I took this job in good faith," manager Graham Abercrombie told Sky Sports News. "With a certain amount of funding being in place, which was offered to the ladies section in good faith.

"It's an absolute shock. It shocks me on a daily basis after what people had promsied to do for us. To a degree it is embarrassing."

Lisa Dawkins - who in 23 years with the club has been a player and manager before taking up her current role as director of football - is equally baffled by the current turn of events.

"I'm absolutely devestated and confused," she said. "Most people in and around the club are quite shocked at the moment.

"We've got nine teams and a four-year-old kid at the club and all the children throughout the age groups are passionate about the club and one day putting on the shirt of the senior team - and that might be taken away from them now."

Current Forest player Reanne Thomas added: "In the past we know that with other womens teams their mens teams have got behind them and sponsored them on player-to-player basis.

"We don't just want to survive we want our community to get behinds us. We are a community team and we do it for the love and we just want to be here playing football."

Carolyn Radford is chief executive of Mansfield Town FC and also chairperson of Mansfield Ladies. She is urging the Forest men's club to support their female counterparts.

"Nottingham Forest are in a much higher division than we are," she said. "We are supporting our ladies yet but there doesn't seem to be much support coming from the football club on their side. I think things have to change."

o make it more fair, we should remove the requirements to score goals and not to concede goals. Then we could just spin and dance and leap and twirl and we'd never have to grow up! We'd be the bestest evar!

his isn't directed at Van Gaal in particular, but, let's be honest, you don't have to be a tactical genius to beat Arsenal at the moment do you? I will say one thing...he put Van Persie on Monreal deliberately? Our Robin hardly had a touch did he? So did that really work? Hmmm....I'd stick to substituting Keepers (yes, yes, it was directed towards him in the end....)
