Billy Davies: Nottingham Forest boss not getting carried away

Goals from Greg Halford and Andy Reid at the City Ground lifted Forest back into the top six following a run of five games without a win.

The result condemned QPR to back-to-back defeats, but Davies is refusing to get carried away and has an eye on improving his squad in the January transfer window.

"Don't get concerned about being in the top six or not being in the top six, it is the Championship, it is a marathon. Let's look at the stats in March," Davies said.

"We thoroughly deserved three points, regardless of the second goal. We will enjoy the three points and look forward to another difficult game.

"The press' aim is promotion, we have never mentioned that, we are a progressing club and we know ourselves that we will continue to work on that progress.

"There is no doubt that we have been playing well at home, but not getting what we deserved.

"In the first half we were excellent, we created a host of chances again and we should have had the game dead and buried by half-time.

"We will look at the transfer window, we will see what we can do in the transfer window and then look forward to the run in at the end of the season.

"We are just another club that is looking forward to January, when it comes to strengthening. We are no different to any other club."
