Michael Appleton: A point gained

Although the Seasiders were at home, he accepted that high-flying in-form Hull provided a tough test - as did the muddy playing surface at Bloomfield Road.

Appleton said: "The state of the pitch made it difficult for us to move the ball and do so quickly.

"It slows the game down but my biggest concern was that someone would get injured because of it.

"Players are constantly losing their feet but it was a game where you could see from the start that there wouldn't be many chances.

"You have to see any point against Hull as a good result. We put in a solid performance and we had the better possession.

"We looked comfortable and getting a clean sheet is a big positive.

"Hopefully, we will have three or four new faces in during the next couple of weeks to freshen things up."

still can't see the Phil Jones thing that some people go on about. Whenever I watch him play it's a repeat of headless chicken meets a gurning Bambi on ice for 90 minutes.

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
