Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool boss expects a quiet month

Rodgers brought in England international striker Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea this week but claims he only has the funds to possibly make one more signing this month.

He told the club's official website: "We are not going to have a lot of money to do anything else in the window.

"We won't have that in January. There might be another but there is not much more business to be done."

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Blackpool winger Tom Ince for several months and have reportedly offered £5m for the 20-year-old England U21 international.

The two clubs have yet to agree a deal for the player, who left Anfield in August 2011, but dialogue is said to be ongoing.

Rodgers, though, has denied any interest in signing Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland.
