Nottingham Forest loanee Derbyshire was reunited with his former Blackburn boss when Ince was named as Michael Appleton's successor at Bloomfield Road.

Although Ince's spell in charge at Ewood Park proved to be an abject failure as he was sacked before Christmas during his first season in charge, Derbyshire - who started 18 of Ince's 21 games with Rovers - is enjoying the familiarity of working with a coach whose methods he is well-acquainted with following weeks of uncertainty on the Fylde coast.

"Obviously I've known him from my time at Blackburn and he's a good manager," the 26-year-old told Blackpool's official website. "He knows how to work with the boys and I enjoyed my time with him last time. It's always good to be playing under a manager who knows you.

"He hasn't changed that much, he's still the same manager and the same person. I think at Blackburn he didn't get enough time, and that was wrong.

"I think now though at Blackpool he'll get that time and I think he'll show a lot of people what he can do."
