Laudrup: Michu more than goals

Michael Laudrup paid tribute to Michu after the Spaniard ended a goalless run in Swansea's 4-1 win over QPR.

Michu's incredible start to life in the Premier League had slowed recently and his early strike ended a six-game drought, but Laudrup feels he offers a lot more than just goals to the team.

Compatriots Angel Rangel and Pablo Hernandez were also on target, marking the first time three Spanish players have scored for one club in the top division.

"Maybe it was a bigger problem for him than us," he said. "For me who scores is not important, but he had been scoring a lot and then had a run without them, but that happens to everybody.

"He is not even a centre-forward, he is an offensive midfielder who can play there and score goals.

"But he does more than waiting for the ball up front, he works hard for us and he has never been a problem for us, even if he has not been scoring goals.

"When you have players playing all the games there will be moments when they are not 100 per cent. Even when he is not having chances he is working in other areas."
