Chico: Facing a race against time to make Wembley trip

The Spanish centre-half is currently sidelined after sustaining ankle ligament damage during the recent Premier League clash with Queens Park Rangers.

He will definitely miss Sunday's trip to Liverpool, but is hoping to defy medical experts by returning to action ahead of schedule.

Chico faces a race against time to put himself in contention for a trip to Wembley on 24 February, but Laudrup feels there is an outside chance that he could figure against Bradford City.

"Chico is being treated several times every day," Laudrup said in the South Wales Evening Post.

"It will be very difficult for him to reach the cup final, but the physios are doing everything they can, so we will have to wait and see if he makes it.

"If Chico isn't fit, then I have three or four options to choose from."
