The Spanish ace proved to be a bargain buy for Michael Laudrup, netting 22 league and cup goals after a £2million switch from Rayo Vallecano.
The 27-year-old hopes to push on next season, helped by Laudrup further re-inforcing his ranks in the summer.
He said: "I hope I will be a better player next season.
"It will be difficult to score that many goals again but I hope to do that.
"The club will sign new strikers in the summer. I prefer to play behind the striker but, if the gaffer asks me to play anywhere, I'll play there.
Michu added: "My team-mates next year will score as well so there won't be too much pressure on me."
