Remi Garde: Hopes to end the row with Bafetimbi Gomis

Olympique Lyonnais blamed Gomis' refusal to leave the Stade de Garland as the reason they had to sell teenager Anthony Martial to Monaco earlier this week.

It has led to a breakdown in the relationship between club and player, who had been linked with Premier League pair Swansea and Cardiff, and he is not part of the pre-season training camp in the Alpine resort of Tignes.

Instead, he is staying behind while the club attempt to find a resolution, and at a press briefing Garde told reporters: "It is not a pleasant situation. I hope there will be a satisfactory outcome for both parties.

"There are significant economic imperatives for the club and we can not go against these constraints.

"There is no desire to disrespect Bafe. My wish is really a solution is found.

"The decision to (leave) Bafe (in) Lyon was taken in consultation with the president. After that, can he stay? You know everything can go very quickly in football. "

ell that really inspires me with confidence. No point in training, deciding on a coherent formation, or playing players in their best positions, let's just hope we get lucky.

alcao really needs to shine now. Apparently according to the stats, he scores more when played up front alone. I wonder if Van Gaal will actually apply a formation to get the best out of him though.
