Huw Jenkins: Still wants another striker

Manager Michael Laudrup said recently he felt his squad was nearly complete, but another player was required to add the finishing touches.

Wilfried Bony has already been added up front for a club-record £12million, but with nearly half of the Swans' goals last season coming through Michu, Jenkins said they 'want one more' to finalise Laudrup's squad.

"There are so many options and names around, and there's a fine line as you wait to see what players might become available from a top club, whether it's here or abroad," Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post.

"Let's not forget that in 90 per cent of our games, if they are fit, Michu or Wilfried Bony will be starting up front.

"Bringing in a second or third striker will just be an added security in case things change."

The chairman also said captain Ashley Williams is going nowhere, despite the reported interest from Arsenal.

"I don't know where the stories come from - every year it's the same. Somebody feeds information to somebody, maybe they are trying to create a story or create a move out of nothing. But I have had no calls. Ash has grown with us," added Jenkins.

"We have had no phone calls about any of our players and we hope that continues."

e're our own worst enemy. We're suicidal in defence, and we may just get slaughtered on Sunday. Other than that, I am very pleased with my team.
