Monk was responding to a question about the possibility of in-form Swans winger Wayne Routledge making the England squad for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

He said: "No, it's not outrageous Wayne could be on the plane.

"I've been a bit disappointed in the past that players hit a period that Wayne is hitting now and they don't get considered.

"They don't even get a mention which is pretty poor when you think of some of the other players getting linked.

"Maybe the scouts or whoever it is don't come this far down. Or the managers of the national teams don't come to Swansea, it's a bit out of the way.

"I'd imagine if we were in London or a major city it's easy enough to fly in and just watch a game. It could be part of it but you'd have to ask those managers, coaches and scouts of national teams.

"Then again, you can watch Premier League games anywhere, on your laptop etc. If you want to see a player you can easily watch him. All the players have to do is keep performing and hopefully something comes along for them."

Top of Monk's agenda this weekend is securing more Premier League points when Swansea visit Hull City on Saturday.

A draw and a win in their last two fixtures against Arsenal and Norwich has taken Swansea seven points clear of the relegation zone, but Monk added: "We haven't got enough points to be safe.

"It is important we realise the position we are in, which I think we do. We are not safe, we have got a job to do, and we have to do it to the best we can.

"I think it is important we finish the season strongly. We have still very much got a job to do, but it is not just about getting safe, it is trying to do that as early as possible and then push on from there.

"For me, I want to get a couple more wins, at least, to ensure that we are safe. That is how I feel.

"I want to try to win every single game for the rest of the season. If we can't do that, then we make sure we don't lose a game. That is the mentality we have to have."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
