Dougie Freedman: Has completed the signing of young duo

17-year-old White, a winger-turned-defender, is highly-rated having reportedly been scouted by Tottenham, Wigan, West Brom and Manchester United.

The same can be said for Republic of Ireland youth international Wilkinson, 18, who can also count Portugese giants Benfica on the list of big names who have been casting admiring glances his way, if reports are to be believed.

And Freedman, who has moved quickly to try and help his club get over their agonising final day heartache, which saw the Trotters miss out on the play-offs on goal difference, is happy with his business.

"I've been aware of them both for a while," Freedman told The Bolton News.

"They both fit in very well with what I am trying to do at this football club and I think they can both have a very bright future with the right development."

xcellent! Not sure if he is any good as a manager (never thought about it) but the 'headbutt in the technical area' and what he said to Pelligrini were just brilliant, it was as if he was trying to recreate the end of the Alan Partridge Xmas special when Alan punched a man in a wheelchair and verbally abused Tony Heirs.
