Jordan Sinnott: Looking to impress in the Championship

The 20-year-old’s current deal expires next summer and he knows it is a big season for him as he bids to show that he can be an important part of Robins’ plans.

Sinnott was loaned out to Bury last term but has been heavily involved in pre-season, showing his versatility by operating in a wing-back role as well as his more familiar midfield position.

“I’m in the last year of my contract and looking to make my mark,” Sinnott said in the Huddersfield Examiner.

“I went on loan last year to Bury and things didn’t go quite as well as planned – and when I came back as well – but I’m enjoying pre-season, working hard and, hopefully, I can show the manager what I can do.”

Sinnott hopes to force his way into Robins’ starting XI for the first game of the Championship season against Bournemouth, and believes Huddersfield can compete in a tough division.

He added: “Like everyone else, I would love to get a shirt on the first day of the season, so I’m going to get my head down, work hard and see what happens.

“My dad has often told me that in football things change day by day and you have to be ready, so that’s my approach.

“I’m feeling strong and sharp from the work we’ve done in pre-season and I’m hungry to do well.

“We’re in our third season in the Championship and I don’t see any reason why we can’t push on because we’ve got the players to do it.

“The club has younger players coming through who are pushing everybody to do well – we have shown we can step up if we need to – and from my point of view I want to start playing games and play as high as I can for as long as I can.”
