Liam Bridcutt: Groin problem

The Seagulls' player of the year for the past two seasons missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Derby with a groin problem and has withdrawn from the Scotland squad to face England.

Boss Oscar Garcia has not put a date on Bridcutt's return but hopes winger Andrea Orlandi will shake off a knee injury in time for Saturday's trip to Birmingham.

"I do not know how long Liam is out for with his groin injury," said Garcia.

"He will not be joining up with Scotland.I hope that Andrea will be okay for next weekend.

"We cannot be 100 per cent as we will have to check his progress every day."

f he can find the right player? Surely the manager of one of Europe's top clubs has a well-researched short-list and has a good idea of who he wants to bring on-board? If I can find the right player sounds like someone going out on Saturday night on the pull, and the nearer you get to midnight the lower your standards drop.
