Sky Bet Championship

Manager - Sean Dyche, Burnley

Dyche led Burnley to the top of the Championship table as his side won three of their four league games in September, drawing the other. Three-goal victories at home to Birmingham and Charlton were impressive, although the stand-out result was surely the 2-1 win over Leeds at Eland Road. Burnley also beat Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup and are now on a run of five consecutive wins in all competitions.

Player - David McGoldrick, Ipswich Town

McGoldrick picked up the Championship player of the month award after hitting four goals in four games for Ipswich. The 25-year-old kicked off September with a brace in the 3-1 home win over Middlesbrough and finished the month with another two-goal performance against Brighton. "We knew McGoldrick could be a threat and today he showed that he is a player who can play at a higher level," said Brighton boss Oscar Garcia following the latter display. "He was the difference between the two sides."

Sky Bet League 1

Manager - Simon Grayson, Preston North End

Simon Grayson: 100 per cent win record in September

Although Leyton Orient are flying high at the top of the league, it was Preston who really caught the eye in September. Grayson's side drew their first four games of the campaign but won all four matches in the month. Oldham and Stevenage were both despatched at Deepdale before Stuart Beavon's second-half goal sealed a 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. A 2-1 triumph over Swindon completed a 100 per cent run in September that has taken PNE to fourth in the table.

Player - David Mooney, Leyton Orient

Orient went into September having won their first five matches of the season and nobody did more than Mooney to maintain that unbeaten run as he netted four times in four games. His brace at home to Port Vale was key in a 3-2 home win and he then scored the breakthrough goal from the spot in a hard-fought victory at Brentford. Perhaps the only disappointment for the 28-year-old forward will be that his goal at home to Walsall was not enough to maintain Orient's 100 per cent record as the 10-men Saddlers battled back for a point.

Sky Bet League 2

Manager - Keith Hill, Rochdale

Keith Hill: Back at Spotland and working the oracle

Hill is a popular figure at Rochdale having guided the team to promotion from this division in his first spell at the club in 2010. Reappointed in January of this year, the campaign did not begin well for the team as they won just one of their first five games but September has seen a dramatic upturn in fortunes. Rochdale beat Bury despite being reduced to 10-men before the break and a late Ian Henderson goal saw off Torquay. Hill's men then survived a sending off to beat Accrington and beat Wycombe by the odd goal in five to take maximum points from the month.

Player - Antoni Sarcevic, Fleetwood Town

The summer signing from Chester enjoyed a fine month for Fleetwood that began with a brace in a convincing 4-1 win at home to Torquay. However, Sarcevic saved his best work for the following week as he curled home a 20-yard strike in the 2-1 victory over Bury. "It was unbelievable," said Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander. "We were right behind it, he hit it sweet as a nut. It was a goal to grace any game in the world."

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
