Paul Tisdale: Wants Doug Bergqvist to gain first-team experience

The 20-year-old former Aldershot centre-back has been loaned to last season's Conference South champions to gain valuable first-team experience following his arrival at St James Park last week.

"We couldn't afford to bring another young player in, but to be able to tie it in with a loan to Welling until January means that we've been able to bring another good young player into the ranks with potential," manager Paul Tisdale told the club's official website.

"He won't be available to us until January - that arrangement was made over the weekend when we were completing the signing.

"It seems a sensible thing to do - it gives us an opportunity for him to join us in January potentially, whilst playing some Conference football along the way."

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
