Neil Ardley: Impressed by Dons character

The Dons were 5-1 down at Griffin Park, with only Jim Fenlon's goal to show for their efforts, until late strikes from George Francomb and Peter Sweeney gave Brentford a lare scare before Ardley's men went out 5-3

"We came here to give Brentford a game and I felt we did that. It was an open game because we wanted to have a go at Brentford," he said.

"We had the chances to turn them over and not many sides will be able to say that here this season. Had we been a little more clinical it might have been a different story."

He praised his side's never-say-die spirit that saw them claw their way back from 5-1 to 5-3 in the dying minutes.

He added: "That impressed me because when you're 5-1 down it's all about character and we showed plenty."

FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
