Gary Rowett: In need of defensive reinforcements

The man in question is a left-sided centre-half that Rowett watched in a training game on Monday.

He hopes a deal can be pushed through quickly, with Burton in need of reinforcements.

With Rory Delap nursing a hamstring complaint and Ian Sharps and Marcus Holness suspended, Rowett is eager to get bodies on board ahead of Saturday's home date with Scunthorpe United.

He told the Burton Mail: "It's a player we've been watching for quite a while.

"He's an experienced player, in League One at the moment.

"If he does well, we might bring him in.

"We've been looking at left-sided defenders as it's something we feel we're missing and now is the perfect time to do that."
