The 48-year-old saw his relegation-threatened side go unbeaten throughout the month, moving them off the bottom of the table.

Pools beat Notts County, Leyton Orient, Scunthorpe and Crewe, while also picking up points in the games against Swindon and Portsmouth, as they ended the month six points from safety.

The Victoria Park outfit's form was recognised further with captain Peter Hartley being awarded the League One player of the month award.

Hartley netted twice during February, grabbing the winner against Notts County and the equaliser in the 2-1 win over Orient.
