Goals from Jack Baldwin, Luke James and the impressive Jack Compton did the damage for Hartlepool, who made it a hat-trick of away wins in a week after successes at Mansfield and Sheffield United.

"That was an outstanding away performance. They started better and we started on the back foot," Cooper said. "But Jack's goal sets us up and from then on in we have done terrifically well.

"We got our noses in front and that knocked the stuffing out of them and we have gobbled up everything they have thrown at us.

"It rounds off what has been a really good week for us. All credit to the lads, all the staff - everyone is working really hard and at the minute there is a nice feel.

"We have had two good away performances this week and we didn't want to be over-confident and complacent.

"Every single person who makes the journey we have to thank. They have seen us sparkle away from home and now we need to give the home fans the same sort of thing. Let's hope we can turn that home form around.

"Other than the first 10 minutes I thought we looked comfortable and thoroughly deserved the win. Headers, tackles, blocks - we had them all."

e have the personnel. The trick is keeping them fit. Carrick and Blind have missed large chunks of the season, while the defence has been one muddled mess of intermittent stooges, all coming and going at various intervals thus far. We may be just short of title winning quality, but we're half way through. An injury crisis to either of the top two could change things. Optimistic, yes, but not unrealistic.

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
