Christian Burgess: Defender would be keen to extend loan at Hartlepool

Middlesbrough youngster Burgess has made 15 appearances for Hartlepool since joining the League Two club in the summer.

The 22-year-old is enjoying his experience at the club and would be keen to stay with Colin Cooper's side beyond Christmas.

Burgess, a former Arsenal academy player, said in the Sunderland Echo: "I would like to see out the season, but it is out of my hands at the moment.

"I would love to stay and it has been fantastic so far.

"I haven't spoken to Boro and I suppose we will see how it goes and then we will have to see what they say and what the gaffer here says and then decide what is best for both parties."

P

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
