Dwight Gayle expected to complete his move to Palace this week

Gayle, who originally joined Peterborough on loan, made a big impact at London Road with 13 goals in 29 appearances but was not able to prevent their relegation to League One.

The transfer could be worth up to £8.5m including add-ons to Peterborough, while Dagenham and Redbridge stand to net a £1m windfall.

Dagenham inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause when Gayle moved to Cambridgeshire for £500,000 during the January window.
