Barnet could still start life at their new home in the Football League after an injury-time penalty save ensured a successful end to their 106 years Underhill.

The struggling side beat Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 in the League Two clash after a late goal from Jake Hyde and a last-gasp save by Graham Stack.

A 6,000 strong crowd witnessed the dramatic day which saw Barnet climb out of the relegation zone before their final game at Northampton next week.

Player manager Edgar Davids said: "We couldn't have written it better today, but you have to be realistic.

"We still have a game next week but if we play with same intensity and the same determination we can make a good shot of staying in the league"

And chairman Tony Kleanthous shares his manager's hopes for salvation.

"It's in our hands. We've got to go to Northampton and get a result," he said.

"The boys fought for every ball today. They were playing with and you can't fault their spirit, commitment, determination or effort today.

"We're saying goodbye to the old place today, it's time to find a new beginning. Hopefully that will still in be in the Football League."

The Bees will move to The Hive in neighbouring Edgware next month, which has been their training ground.

sn'tthis strange. Last season we were worried that we were stuck with a Dinosaur in Moyes while Liverpool and Everton were disappearing into the distance with their young, spritely managerts, playing football from heaven. Progressive managers, they said. Managers who understand the modern game.........

ood list, some crackers in there. For me, I'd have had Steve McManaman for Liverpool away at Celtic in the UEFA cup in 1997. I was in the ground that night and everyone kept screaming at him to make a pass, but he just kept going and going and going...brilliant, and in the dying minutes too.
