The 26-year-old made 37 starts for the Sky Blues last term but had his contract mutually terminated on Wednesday in order for him to pen terms on a 12-month deal with the Shakers 24 hours later.

Bury boss Kevin Blackwell said: "I'm very pleased to have signed William.

"He will fit into the left-sided centre-half role as he is a naturally left-sided player plus we have the benefit that he has played alongside Nathan Cameron at Coventry City, hopefully that will enable him to gel into the squad much quicker and be an obvious benefit for us."

robably the first list I've come across in a long time where I agree with a large majority of what was written. Can't agree with everything though, Zaba has had an awful season by his standards, I'd put Monreal (a player who I've never rated) up there, gotta give credit where it's due, he's really stepped up his game.
