Pat Fenlon: Hibernian lose appeal against dismissal of midfielder Kevin Thomson

Thomson was sent off in Hibs' Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United last weekend.

A statement on the club's website read: "After examining video footage, the club lodged an appeal.

"The Judicial Panel have rejected the appeal and upheld the referee's original decision that Thomson was judged to have pulled his opponent's shirt, in a very aggressive manner using excessive force to pull him back, forcibly spinning him round and pulling him towards him.

"The club is extremely disappointed with the outcome and midfielder Thomson will now be suspended for the club's next two matches, away at Kilmarnock on Saturday and at home to Ross County on Saturday 31 August."
