Neil Lennon: SPL manager of the month for December

The Irishman, currently in Spain on hot-weather training duty with the Hoops, led his side to four league victories from five games during the month.

The champions opened up with a convincing 3-1 win at Kilmarnock before chalking up a 2-0 home success over St Mirren.

The Bhoys then turned on the style as they beat Ross County 4-0 before returning from Dens Park with all three points from a 2-0 defeat of Dundee.

The only blip during the period occured when they closed out the year with a 1-0 loss at Hibernian.

Despite suffering their fourth reverse of the campaign, Lennon's Bhoys will return to SPL action against Hearts on Saturday week with a nine-point cushion at the top.

The award was Lennon's eighth as Celtic boss, leaving him just one shy of the record set by predecessor Martin O'Neill and former Rangers manager Alex McLeish.

Meanwhile, former Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy picked up the award for player of the month.

Murphy, who joined Sheffield United earlier this month, scored five times for the Steelmen as Stuart McCall's side claimed victory in three of their five league matches.

m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.
