Andrea Pirlo: Taking nothing for granted in Celtic showdown

The Serie A leaders helped themselves to a commanding 3-0 first leg lead in their UEFA Champions League last-16 showdown with the Hoops on Tuesday.

With the return date of that tie set to be staged in Turin, Juve are overwhelming favourites to make the quarter-finals and end Celtic's continental adventure.

Pirlo, though, knows there can be no room for complacency inside the Italian camp, with the World Cup winner having experienced first-hand during his days at AC Milan how quickly games can be turned on their head - with Liverpool having staged a remarkable fightback in the 2005 Champions League final to pip the Rossoneri on penalties.

He said: "I've been in football long enough to know miracles can happen. I can still remember the Champions League final against Liverpool.

"Liverpool scored three goals in just a half, whereas Celtic have a whole game.

"Of course we have put ourselves in a great position and, after a win like that, we expect to go through, but it would be dangerous to consider that the tie is won yet."

Inspiration

Celtic are also looking to draw inspiration from Liverpool's remarkable efforts in Istanbul eight years ago as they prepare to enter the last-chance saloon.

Defender Kelvin Wilson said: "If you say it is over, then it's a waste of time going over there.

"You have to remember anything can happen in football.

"Look at Liverpool, they were 3-0 down in the final and came back to win it against a great Milan side.

"It's going to be hard, we're not stupid, but we're not going to write it off."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
