Commons was stretchered off in first-half stoppage time at St Mirren Park after colliding with his team-mate Beram Kayal.

The 29-year-old, who had put Celtic ahead in the sixth minute, required prolonged treatment before leaving the pitch and there were fears he could face a lengthy absence.

However Commons underwent a scan on Thursday which showed no serious damage and he is hoping to be playing again in the near future.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirmed the Scotland international will be given a chance to prove his fitness at training today.

Commons tweeted on Friday morning: "For those askin about my injury, I got the all clear from MRI yesterday so hoping to be back very soon."

arish is the man to blame for this shambles. Pulis must be chuckling into his left over turkey sandwich. I pray this doesn't mean the Neil Warnock media machine will kick in now and he'll be back on the telly box.

e almost found a new way to lose, just when I thought it was getting boring Giroud does that. Although Arsenal are deservedly called 'soft' the entire midfield is out injured. Still must admit MU are managing to win despite a similar raft of absentees. Think the Gunners have good players but poorly coached.
