Neil Lennon: Wants a joyous occasion at Celtic Park on Sunday

Second-placed Motherwell's 3-1 win at Dundee United on Friday night leaves Celtic needing just a point against Inverness to secure the championship at home for the first time since 2006, when John Hartson scored in the 1-0 win over Hearts.

"We haven't won it (title) in front of our fans for a long, long time," the Hoops boss said.

"I think the last time we did it was under Gordon Strachan against Hearts when big John got the winner so it would be lovely to win the title in front of the home support, and I am hoping it will be a full house.

"It should be very joyous. We have an exciting three or four weeks leading up to the final.

"It is just rewards for the efforts of the players. It has been a great season and I am so proud of them.

"We are on the brink of another championship which I can tell you that is a very special occasion.

"I'm really pleased that we won the semi-final last week, that was huge for momentum for the rest of the season. I hope they play the way we know they can.

"I hope we get a full house, I hope the supporters get right behind the team, I'm sure they will and I hope they enjoy their day."

With an early start to next season due to Champions League qualifiers starting in mid-July, Lennon plans to give some of his squad time off before the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian at the end of the season.

The Northern Irishman said: "We have already made plans for the players to get a holiday and we will stagger that over the next few weeks and then we will have everyone back two to three weeks before the cup final.

"Some of these players are playing through June and we are going to be back mid-July for pre-season games and the Champions League qualifiers, so they need

a rest and this is the only opportunity we can give them, really."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
