Victor Wanyama: One year to run on his current Celtic deal

The Kenyan midfielder, this week named the SPL's young player of the year, has yet to sign a new deal with just a year of his contract to run, while his manager has been linked with the Everton job following David Moyes's switch to Manchester United.

Wanyama remains coy on his next move but believes club chiefs should do all they can to make sure Lennon stays put.

He said: "I just leave the club and my agent to sort everything out. You never know. We will see."

On Lennon, he added: "He has been great. I've learned a lot from him. He has put a strong team out there and he is still a very important manager for us.

"I would say he is one of the best managers I have had in my career.

"We have learned a lot and we have achieved a lot while I have been here. We are delighted to have him.

"There is no doubt other clubs want him. We all just want to see him stay here."

ow are people still backing Arsenal for the title? It's like you're predicting the tide not to come in; Arsenal will finish third or fourth and make the quarter final of the Champions League. It was ever thus.

othing screams 'Panic!!' when your new manager brings Fellaini on as a sub for your star signing of the summer and within 5 minutes you concede the winner. I know it is only the first game in but I would seriously be sh1**ng myself I was a Man Utd supporter. This has the potential of being very nasty indeed.

n the words of Pete Townsend, meet the new boss, the same as the old boss. Though I would comment that it's 3 more points than we picked up in the same fixture last year, so that's a 100% improvement.
